Here at LGY, we are somewhat "anti-trend," but that's more complex than it seems. When we say, "don't buy into trends," we're talking mostly about the fast fashion cycle, which turns over constantly.
We're against buying new clothes all the time just to look hip without a thought about your own personal style.
However! Trends are a lot of fun to reference in your look with things you already have in your closet. Lots of runway looks can be re-created with pieces you own, which means putting your own twist on them!
There's nothing more chic and cool than being a real individual, but that doesn't mean you can't look for inspiration.

1. Statement Jewelry Is Trending for 2025
Big accessories are the vibe for this summer, especially necklaces. Maryam Nassir Zadeh had a gorgeous and accessible (code for wearable for non-uber fashion folks) evil eye necklace in her collection.
Honestly, it looks like something you could find at a flea market or a little shop on St. Marks in NYC, so get cracking!
Pro Stylist Tip: Pair these pieces with strapless, minimalist tops in basic colors to let them shine!
2. Sheer, Sheer, Sheer! The Fashion Trend of 2025
It's see-through spring! Sheer is the name of the game this season. I saw murmurs of this trend last summer, but now it's in full effect.
When it comes to this trend, anything goes! Sheer shirts, dresses, and skirts are the hottest ticket items right now.

Pro Stylist Tip: When going sheer, aim for an oversized effect in the rest of your clothing. Whether it's wearing big chunky boots with a sheer dress or baggy pants with a sheer shirt, this will balance out the look.
3. Strong Shoulders
Look out 80s! We're flirting with shoulder pads again. Fear not, you're not going out looking like Melanie Griffith in Working Girl pre-makeover. Call us crazy, but this is a trend that's easy to pull off.
Whether it's an off-the-shoulder look or a padded effect, this trend is loud and proud this year.

4. Ponchos & Draping Trends for Spring 2025
This spring, draping is the name of the game. It's been a while since we've seen so many poncho-esque pieces on the runway, but they were all over fashion week this year. How very 70s!

5. An Enormous 2025 Fashion Trend - Brown Leather
Distressed leather is really having a moment right now, especially in brown. I saw this totally take over the runway this year. Now's the time to grab that old leather jacket in your closet and wear it out in all the right places! Bonus points if it's oversized.

5. Statement Belts Are a Strong 2025 Fashion Trend
This is one of my favorite trends of the bunch. All over the runway, in almost every show, we saw the use of big statement belts. Belts are such a perfect way to tie a look together while adding personality.

Pro Stylist Tip: The "drop waist" silhouette is super in right now, so style your belt on your hips rather than your natural waist.
All of these trends are so easy to replicate with what you have; all it takes is a little bit of out-of-the-box thinking. Use your creativity, and try them out!
